Astaxanthin (Haematococcus plurialis) is a carotinoid that is one of the most potent anti-oxidants available and is in a class of pigments produced by algae. Natural pigments are the rich yellow, green and red colors found in plants and vegetables. Unlike some other anti-oxidants, Astaxanthin does not turn into a harmful pro-oxidant at any point during the digestion process. This Astaxanthin 5% concentration may be added foods and beverages or smoothies and green drinks. It is a reddish powder and has no fillers, additives or preservatives. I was dairy free for a long time. I live in nyc and wanted something Organic quick to add to add coffee tea and cereals that has a long shelf life and wasn’t a nut or coconut product.and not low fat ( my mom used to use “alba” and I just can’t.... I would like to look into more of the processing and could speak more to that at a later date - but over all - loving it
